We have learnt to parent differently here in Canterbury, New Zealand. We've had to. This video is full of wisdom borne of experience, by parents, teachers and children in Canterbury.
Special thanks to the beautiful and insightful Noah, Aniwa, Nevaeh, Ari, Mia, Lia, Lox, Alex, Grace, Ben and Seraphine. Sarah, Jess, Clint, Michelle, Sarah, Ciaran and Tonya; I know you will inspire us all to reflect on protecting our mental health and that of our children and young people. This project wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of The New Zealand Red Cross.
We began by asking our participants about how they protect their own mental health and the mental health of their family members and classes. They also shared with us their experiences of anxiety, stress and worry and the ways in which they parent and teach differently since the Canterbury Earthquake sequence.

One of the most difficult aspects of making the film was limiting the length, there was so much useful and beautiful footage. The feedback has been wonderful and we're so proud of the completed work. Please share it with other parents, teachers and children.
